Helmer Aslaksen's List of Salsa Steps

This is a list of salsa steps that I've written for my own benefit. I'm probably the only person who understands my descriptions, but some of my friends have trouble remembering the names, so I decided to put it up on the web. Most of the steps are from the videos by Salsa Lovers. For more info, please see my page on Salsa in Singapore.

• Para Al Medio
• Para Abajo
• Exhibela
• Dile Que No
• Guapea
• Dame: Turn directly to right. Or: Crossover turn to left.
• Dame Dos
• Enchufla: Raise the left arm. Or: Arm at waist level.
• Enchufla Doble
• Adios
• Adios Con La Hermana: In Adios, I let her go on 6, but here I hold on and turn left to face her and do an Enchufla and one-arm CL.
• Vacila
• Vacila Dame Uno: Go to the next lady.
• Siete: Face into the circle, and keep the lady on my left.
• Evelyn: Left arm low, change hands at end of Hook turn, one-arm CL.
• El Dos: Change hands, exit on 2nd right back by raising right arm, spin her around me, Sombrero, CL.
• Sombrero
• Balsero: Two-hand crossed Tap, spin her around, CL.
• Abanico: Sombrero, walk forward 180 while turning her, Hook turn and switch hands.
• Dedo: Right-hand crossed Tap, Enchufla on the back, Hook turn, Enchufla on the front, one-hand CL.
• Dedo Guarapa Y Bota: Right-hand crossed Tap, back towards her on 6 with right hand on right shoulder, walk 180 on 1-3 while holding her and go to the next partner on 4-6. Or: Lead her across with left arm, Hook turn while spinning her, CL.
• Abrazala: One-hand Besito. Left arm on her shoulder.
• Montana: Two-hand Dedo. One arm after the other.
• Setenta: Two-hand uncrossed Tap with right hand low, walk 180 while turning her, Enchufla, right arm over my head, CL.
• Siete Con Coca-Cola: Siete, turn her, step forward on 1 and do a Coca-Cola.
• Besito: Two-hand crossed Tap where I turn on 6 and put right arm behind, Alarde on 3, Hook, Enchufla to center, Sombrero.
• Setenta Complicado: Two-hand uncrossed Tap with right hand low, left hand behind head, lead her behind me, Hook turn, two-hand Enchufla to center, Padlock, CL.
• 3-way Stop: Left-hand uncrossed Tap, 3-way stop with back towards circle, cross left with right foot on last, left arm on her shoulder and turn left on 1-3 to face the next lady.
• Sombrero Doble: At the end of the second Sombrero, I put right arm behind my neck on 6, release left and one-hand Tap, CL.
• Juana La Cubana: Sombrero, to my left with left arm behind her shoulder and right arm low, to the right with right arm low behind her, Alarde on 6, Exhibela, Sombrero.
• Dame Una No Le Lleges: Dame, double turn to meet the same lady, CL. The lady does a CLT and CL.
• Siete Moderno: Like Siete Con Coca-Cola, but I let my left hand go on the Siete, grab her left hand, put her arm behind my neck on 1.
• Ponle Sabor: Right-hand lead with wrist break, one hand Uno, I go under arm on 13, Hook turn, Exhibela, Exhibela where I go in with right hand on right shoulder at the end, push her arm, grab her left arm, spin her, CL.
• Dedo Saboreado: 1-12 of Dedo, 6-24 of Ponle Sabor, CL.
• BeBe: Balsero, Besito into Sombrero, Exhibela, reverse Balsero, tap into overhead turn together, Abanico.
• El Doce: Uno for 2x8, go under left arm in front, 1x8 dos, release right arm on 6, lead her across under left arm, Hook turn, left arm CL with left arm Alarde on 1, Coca-Cola.
• Setenta Nuevo: Setenta for 6 with Alarde at 6, walk 1-3, Hook with left arm low while leading her around, lead her behind me and Hook, Enchufla with Padlock and CL.
• Pasea Y Complicate
• Pasea La Por El Parque
• Sambuca: 1-3, Hook turn while holding on with my left arm behind my back, 2 basics, get out, Enchufla, 2 Exhibela, CL.
• La Jenny: Enchufla, 2 Paseas, Coca-Cola with right arm behind her back, unwind her, Hook turn, walk 1-3, Hook turn with change hands behind the back, CL.
• Noventa: 1-9 like Setenta, 10-12 Enchufla her, 13-15 raise left arm and turn left, 16-18 and walk left, 19-21 turn her, back breaks, raise right arm and turn left, Enchufla, CL.
• Coca-Cola por Atras: Start in DLQN, CLT with left arm on her shoulder, slide arm to her hip and lead her behind, CLT.
• Abanico Complicado: Abanico for 6, release left and grab in front, walk 1-3, Hook turn while leading her around, lead her behind me, back break with left arm behind, lead her in front, Enchufla with left arm low, release arms and CL.
• Habana: Like Candado, but finish with sweater, exit immediately and do a Exhibela holding on to both hands, release left hand and walk, arm lock into CL.
• Dedo De Lazaro
• Agamenon
• Micaela: 1-3 Vacila, Hook turn, left arm behind, right in front, 1-3 walk, 4-6 lead behind, 1-3 two arm Vacila, 4-6 lead behind, 1-12 Setenta, transfer her hand to my left hand, Exhibela for her, Hook turn for me, CL.
• Siete Loco Complicado: Siete where I catch her left arm (or do it with two arms), Coca-Cola, back to back, 2 Exhibelas, Enchufla, Hook turn, lead her behind, Hook turn while moving around her, Enchufla, CL. Siete Loco does a CL after the 2 Exhibelas.

Other steps

• Una Bulla.
• Arriba from Dame: Walk around her, face the previous lady who has just done a half turn, half hook turn while she turns, CL.
• Vacila Doble: I turn left.
• Enchufla Con Vuelta: I turn right at 4-6, using my arm to lead me into the turn.
• Adios Con Vuelta: I turn left at 1-3, hold on with left arm and reach over with right.
• Vacila Doble: I turn left on 1-3.
• Para Ti Para Mi: Enchufla, I walk under my arm, Enchufla, CL.
• El Uno: Change hands, exit on 2nd right back by raising right arm.
• Pollo
• Candado: Hook turn.
• Candado De Mentira: Sweetheart.
• Arriba from Candado
• Tarrito (Tarro)
• Tarrito De Mentira
• Serucho
• Hombres a la Derecha, Mujeres al Izquierdo
• Principe Bueno
• Principe Malo
• Enchufla Con Pelota Con Dos
