1.2) CONDENSATION HYPOTHESIS
This is a simple model proposed by Harold Urey. Both the Earth and the Moon were formed at the same time and in the same region. The solar system was nothing more than a cloud of hot gases and dust and both bodies condensed into their present form and became gravitationally linked.

Although this could explain the large similarities in their ages and composition, it could not explain the lack of density, iron and minerals that are purged at high heat and the Moon’s much lower density.
