Tutorials

Students are expected to participate actively in tutorials by presenting solutions.  Tutorial questions will be posted here regularly.  The first tutorial will be held on 27th August, and at 2 week intervals thereafter.  Additional tutorial sessions may be held if necessary.

Homework assignments

There will be a few graded homework assignments throughout the course of the semester.

• Homework set 1.  Solutions due 5th September

• Homework set 2.  Solutions due 19th September. Hints to Q1 & Q3 added.

• Homework set 3.  Solutions due 24th October.

• Homework set 4.  Solutions due 14th November.

Tests

There will be two tests during the semester.  Each test will be worth 20% of the final grade.

The first test will be held on Friday 3rd October at the lecture time slot.  It will cover §§ 1 - 5.

The second test will be held on Tuesday 4th November at the lecture time slot.  It will cover §§ 6 - 7.

Final exam

The final exam will be held on 26th November 2008 in the evening.
