Math 150 Lecture 002 - Tenth Homework Assignment

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, students who normally attend recitation on Thursdays are welcome to choose a recitation to attend on Tuesday, November 24. This recitation will be devoted to Chapter 6.

MAPLE:

• Go through the worked Sample Problem for Chapter 6, Sections 5, 6, and 8. This material is found on pages 144 - 147 of the Lab Manual. I suggest that you first try to do the problems using MAPLE on your own. Then compare your solutions with those in the Lab Manual.
• Work through Demonstrations #12 and 13.  

READING: Chapter 6 Sections 4 through 8.

CORE PROBLEMS: Write up, for your own record, solutions to the Core Problems for Chapter 6 sections 4 through 8.

Notes on the Core Problems:

• The units for the answer to 6.5 #49 are mg/cc, not mg/cc/hr.
• The answer to 6.8 #28 is 60*Pi.

OLD FINAL EXAM PROBLEMS: Final Exams for the past eight semesters are included at the back of your Math 150/151 Lab Manual. For this week's assignment you should work the following problems from the old final exams:

Fall 1996:	# 5, 7, 19
Spring 1997:	# 10, 12
Fall 1997:	# 10, 13, 14
Spring 1998:	# 14, 19
