### Chapter 2 Section 6: The Derivative

- Slope of a curve
- tangent line
- instantaneous rate of change
- definition of derivative

From definition of derivative, calculate derivatives of:

- constant function
- f(x) = c*x where c is a constant
- f(x) = x^2+1
- f(x) = 1/(x-3)

Basic Rules of derivative

From the basic rules of derivative, calculate derivatives of:

- f(x)=x^(100)+2* sqrt(x)+1

Use MAPLE and the diff command to do the same calculations (try
this on your own).
