Fintech takes the original financial system and improves its technology, while Techfin is to rebuild the system with technology. In this course, we shall study Fintech using tools from mathematics, statistics, and finance. Neither detailed IT issues nor philosophical issues will be discussed.
Participants must possess knowledge in calculus, linear algebra , basic probability and statistics, and basic finance concepts such as investment and derivatives pricing.
A total of 20 hours of lecture and practical work (in computing lab) would be taught over 6 days. There would a 2-hour test on the last day.
